What's the Big Deal About the Grant?
When I first started at Struthers Recreation, I heard a lot about “The Grant”. So much that I may have started to think it was some super-star of an employee I hadn’t met yet. Maybe you have been hearing about the grant and you keep wondering, like I was, who or what it is all about.
The Grant is a unique funding opportunity that comes around only once a year from GameTime. GameTime specializes in commercial playground equipment and outdoor fitness equipment and Struthers Recreation is the exclusive representative for GameTime in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and the Panhandle of Florida. Did you know playground systems and outdoor fitness equipment are both eligible for grant funding from GameTime? This is the best time of year to purchase equipment!
GameTime has been around since 1929, and GameTime equipment has been made in Ft. Payne, Alabama for over 40 years. So, when you purchase your equipment from GameTime you not only purchase equipment that is backed by nearly 100 years of research and design experience, but you also help keep Americans employed all around the U.S. In return for your support GameTime offers up to 100% Matching Funds Grant to the purchase of qualifying playground systems.

According to GameTime the following systems qualify for grant funding,

IONiX: Is it a playground or an art installation? IONiX systems are known for their Shadow Play panels that capture sunlight and disperse it below, transforming the ground into a vibrant, colorful work of art.

What about Outdoor Fitness Equipment?
Not only does GameTime offer this up to 100% matching funds opportunity, they also want to help improve the health and wellness of children and families with funding for outdoor fitness equipment. You can apply for up to $25,000 in funds toward the purchase of outdoor obstacle courses and up to $7,000 toward the purchase of outdoor gym equipment. You can create a park dedicated to fitness or add fitness equipment to a play area to encourage all people to participate and improve their health by being active.
