Playground Design Elements: Climb

One of the elements of playground design that inspires kids and adults alike is that of climbing. We start out learning to climb in trees, on rocks and playgrounds in safely designed spaces (with plenty of safety surfacing to cushion any falls that may happen). And many grow up exploring the limits of climbing in extreme sports such as free solo climbers, parkour artists, and rappellers. With differing levels of climbing challenges a playground is just the beginning for a life of adventure where the sky is literally the limit.
